Blackberry is red and hard when it is raw and turn black and shiny as it ripens.It has a smooth skin with a greenish-white core. This edible fruit is an aggregate fruit composed of many smaller fruits called drupes. The state of Oregon located ,United States of America are the major producers of this fruit.This soft fruit is used in desserts, jams, jellies and sometimes wine. Blackberry has a high nutritional content of dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, folic acid , vitamin B, manganese and polyphenol antioxidants. Raspberry is an important commercial fruit crop, widely grown in all temperate regions of the world. The red and the black raspberry has a very pleasing flavour, slightly sweet with a light acid balance. They are widely used for purée, juice, or as dried fruit in a variety of grocery products. .Raspberry is a rich source of vitamin C, manganese, dietary fibre ,vitamins B, folic acid, magnesium, copper and iron .Raspberry has an ORAC value of about 4900 per 100 grams.
Blueberry –
Blueberry is 5–16 millimeters diameter with a flared crown at the end,it is pale greenish at first and finally dark blue when ripe. This edible fruit has a sweet taste with variable acidity. Blueberries are sold fresh and used in jellies, jams, blueberry pies and cereals. Blueberry has notably high levels essential dietary mineral manganese, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin K and dietary fiber, anthocyanins and various phytochemicals.
Cranberry has a sweet taste with a mild sour niche. Cranberry sauce is regarded an indispensable part of traditional American and Canadian Thanksgiving menus and some European winter festivals. Cranberry has moderate levels of vitamin A,B, C, dietary fiber , manganese, as well as a balanced profile of other essential micro nutrients. Cranberries have an ORAC score of 9,584 units per 100 g.
Thimbleberry is softer than raspberry and around a centimeter in diameter, which ripen to a bright red with many small seeds. They make an excellent jam which is sold as a local delicacy in some parts of Upper Michigan. Thimbleberry is rarely cultivated commercially as it does not pack or ship well.
